October 31 2008

On Thursday 30 October, Aberdeenshire Community Safety Partnership, in conjunction with Stewart Milne Homes, will officially open their ‘Safer Homes’ show house.

The show home is fitted out with a variety of additional home safety and security features – over and above those required as standard under current building regulations.  The ‘Safer Home’  will be the centrepiece of the Aberdeenshire Safer Homes project which aims to raise the general awareness of all aspects of home safety and security, with a number of events planned to take place at the show house and elsewhere in Aberdeenshire during the coming months.

Safe features employed include fireguards, stairgates, carpet grips, dusk to dawn lights, non slip bath mat and 10-year battery smoke alarms.
