Lochgelly town centre regeneration efforts recognised
Efforts to revitalise Lochgelly town centre have been recognised at the Planning and Placemaking awards with two category wins.

Collaboration between Ore Valley Group and ECD Architects has seen the historic Miners’ Institute restored and completion of a new build business centre which between them now play host to some 16 businesses and charities.

Cllr. Mark Hood, Acting Chair of the Cowdenbeath Area Committee said: “Every one of the Community Planning Partners continues to work tirelessly for Lochgelly, helping to deliver much needed new housing as well as commercial and leisure opportunities. These developments alongside others such as the new closed loop cycle circuit and investment in nearby Lochore Meadows are positively putting Lochgelly on the map.”

Other projects delivered in the town include a block of flats and shops on Main Street, a conversion of the Town House to form affordable flats and alterations to St Andrew’s Church to form a new indoor climbing centre.
