St Patrick’s Primary reaches financial close
Plans to deliver the latest school to be designed by Holmes Miller have reached financial close, clearing the way for construction to begin in Greenock.

St Patrick’s Primary is being built on behalf of Inverclyde Council and Hub West Scotland on the same footprint as the existing school, utilising a simple palette of facing brick and zinc.

In their design statement the architects observed: “The linear classroom arrangement facing the main street is shadowed by a zinc clad hood which wraps over it to provide shelter to playgrounds and entrance areas.

“The brick and glass elevation below is articulated by feature projecting ‘cube’ pods in a matching brick which creates a variety of external teaching spaces to the south elevation.”

Lend Lease have been appointed to deliver the £6.6m school.
