Montrose masterplan views solicited
Views are being solicited for a masterplan for the port area of Montrose, which would transform the town into a hub for offshore renewables and the chemical services industry.

The harbour blueprint has been costed at £21.7m and would see creation of upgraded commercial and industrial distribution facilities and a separate investment from drugs firm GSK into a new Biopharm.

If implemented it would see Montrose turned into a centre for the storage and maintenance of offshore turbines with infrastructure improvements also put in place – including a new spine road.

Assumption has been made for a development and construction period of 10 years.

Consultants Ironside Farrar prepared the report on behalf of a client steering group led by Angus Council.
A former custom house, dock buildings and lighthouse will be protected under the plans.
