Mast Architects and CCG have returned with revamped proposals to erect 46 apartments for affordable rent in Govan.

Superseding a prior application from 2021 the latest submission for the 0.26-hectare island car park, which would host two apartment blocks and shared amenity ground with just 15 parking spaces remaining.

Both blocks will stand as mirror images of one another with feature balconies projecting from the prominent gushet end.

In a statement, the applicant wrote: "The revised proposals supercede the previous proposals submitted in January 2021 and reflect extensive pre-application discussions with Glasgow City Council and an RSL partner to deliver 46 no. one & two-bed dwellings to meet with the need for affordable rented accommodation within the surrounding area."

A new footpath will be routed between Golspie Street and Langlands Road with mature trees fronting the former to be retained.

This is the sort of housing development we really need! Dense, affordable flats with limited/no car parking, in areas with accessible public transport and local services.
