Lilybank Church conversion delivers urban homes

Corum Property has begun marketing a distinctive 'urban home' for sale within the grounds of the former Lilybank Church in Glasgow's west end as part of its transition to residential accommodation.

Belmont West includes two semi-detached and one detached villa with brickwork and wood cladding to contrast with the main church hall, which has been converted into 25 apartments.

The upside-down home offers two double bedrooms opening onto a private sun terrace on the ground floor with the main living areas raised above, including a large private terrace accessed from the lounge which overlooks the stained glass windows of the church.

In a statement, Corum Property wrote: "Residence 2 is a stylish two bedroom semi-detached villa spread over two floors within the church grounds. Designed with truly contemporary living in mind, this executive home contrasts the classical design of the church with a modern, Scandinavian feel using clean brickwork and wood cladding."

Designed by the Riach Partnership the project gained approval in 2017 because it would establish a physical and visual edge to the southern boundary, with the topography ensuring uninterrupted views west from Lilybank Terrace are maintained.
