Calderwood Primary welcomes first pupils

Calderwood Primary in East Calder has today opened its doors to 462 pupils following the handover of the £14.3m building to West Lothian Council.

Delivered by hub South East with Morrison Construction and jmarchitects the campus caters for a booming local population with the Calderwood Core Development Area delivering up to 2,400 new homes.

Greig Jamieson, Hub South East’s commercial director, said: “The new Calderwood Primary is a state-of-the-art facility built to a high quality, but more importantly, it’s a space designed to encourage innovative learning and provide the right platform for its young people to reach their full potential."

An on-site nursery catering for a further 128 children will open on 18 October.
