Hands-free refresh to tempt workers back to the office

German real estate investment firm AM Alpha has begun refurbishment of a 79,300sq/ft office development at 200 Broomielaw, Glasgow, to incorporate touch-free technology.

Following its acquisition of the property last summer Michael Laird Architects have been drafted in to help oversee the multimillion-pound project, which will overhaul all floors and common areas and includes relocating the front door to establish a new reception space, business lounge and concierge station.

Martin Lemke from AM Alpha said: “From the flexible floor plates with splendid river views to the excellent cycling and changing facilities, to name just two points out of many, it will make the work-life balance for occupiers’ staff easier to achieve whilst working collaboratively with colleagues.”

Due to complete by the end of the year the work is being undertaken by Clark Contracts to pave the way for a post-covid return to the office, with staff being tempted back by a wellness suite incorporating a basement yoga studio, gym and click and collect lockers.

Originally designed by Keppie the waterfront office development includes a seventh-floor private terrace.
