Gilshochill residents to have their say on floodproof masterplan

Gilshochill residents are to be given their say on a residential-led masterplan to revitalise the North Maryhill neighbourhood.

Transforming Communities: Glasgow (TC:G), in partnership with Maryhill Housing, will hold an online consultation setting out their plans for the area.

Centred on land between Sandbank Street, Kilmun Street, Shiskine Drive and Lyndale Road the proposals will make a feature of flood prevention measures with landscaped water channels.

These will line a series of walking and cycling routes as well as new public open space around Summerston train Station.

TC:G chair councillor Kenny McLean commented: “This consultation offers the chance to find out about and help shape this masterplan for a part of Maryhill that offers great potential as a place to live and visit.”

The digital consultation will be led by Icecream Architecture with ERZ as lead masterplanners and will open on 26 March, running until 23 April.

In the brave / new post CoViD19 world -- pushing public transport will be a tough ask.

Or is it a bit of greenwashing to cut costs by not providing parking -- very new Glesga.

Well for a start spelling the place name incorrectly is always a 'red flag' in my eyes!! Very poor.
