Scone & Kinross builds address retirement living demand

The Cruden Group has launched two retirement living developments in Perth Kinross comprising 92 properties marketed exclusively at the over 55s under its Juniper Residential brand.

Sites at Scone and Kinross have been selected for the twin builds, which are a bid by the developer to diversify into the fast-growing market as the number of pensioners in Scotland is expected to grow by 240,000 over the next 25 years.

The Earlsgate development in Scone will see the former Wheel Inn replaced by 51 apartments and communal grounds to plans drawn up by the ID Partnership.

A sister development, the 41-home Muirwood Gardens in Kinross, will supplant the former Windlestrae Hotel and is led by Young & Gault Architects.

Juniper’s sales & marketing director, Hazel Davies, said: “The benefits of moving into an age exclusive community are numerous, particularly with regards to the sense of wellness and community afforded by the vibrant social life on offer. Here residents can participate in activities such as organised walking groups, film nights and yoga classes, to name but a few.

“The developments also provide a peace of mind that is proving very attractive to prospective buyers who are reassured by the latest security features and fewer home and garden maintenance demands.”

Completion of the first homes s expected in the summer.
