GHA break ground on 70 off-site Garscadden homes

Contractor CCG has broken ground on 70 apartments, cottage flats and houses for mid-market rent on the site of the disused Garscadden Primary.

Designed by Anderson Bell + Christie the properties will be prefabricated off-site to speed construction. GHA Chair Bernadette Hewitt said: “These modern, energy-efficient homes will provide much-needed affordable housing in a sought-after area and make a significant difference to the local community.”

CCG managing director David Wylie added: “I am in no doubt that the regeneration of this site will positively contribute towards the local community, both with the creation of new affordable homes as well as a wide range of community benefit initiatives including jobs, training and support for schools."

Delivered on behalf of Glasgow Housing Association the Hurlford Avenue homes should complete by early 2022.
