Kilwinning social housing partnership to deliver 79 homes

A public-private partnership led by North Ayrshire Council and hub South West is to deliver 79 homes for social rent in Kilwinning following sign-off on the £12.43m initiative.

St Michael's Wynd will be built by Graham Construction to designs by Norr Architects, which emphasise open space, energy efficiency and supported living.

New connections will also be offered to established amenities in the town centre and the Garnock River.

Michael McBrearty, chief executive of hub South West, said: “The hub South West model recognises and complements North Ayrshire Council’s objectives of delivering best value and genuine social impact through investment in such projects, thereby ensuring a legacy far beyond the new community we are developing."

Work is programmed to commence by the end of the year for completion by spring 2022.

It is hoped the new homes will further wider regeneration in Kilwinning

North Ayrshire Council are doing some great stuff with social housing recently, with this looking the best of them all.

Well done to Norr and the rest of the team.

This looks really good and hopefully stays that way through the inevitable "value engineering" stage...

Trolls are out in force this morning it seems!

Looks very ordinary...hopefully more care has gone into the design than the visuals.

If I criticise someone about being a troll ..... does that make me also a troll ?

The project looks neat and well considered. Images could do with being a bit brighter

@4. Fair point....

Perhaps i was being a touch aggressive. The project does look decent to be fair.

Ah, the joy of anonymity.

Comment #5 is not from me. The original comment still stands. It's bog standard stuff. Hardly too inspiring.
