Fife coastal properties address an affordable home shortage

Robertson Partnership Homes has completed a £5.4m affordable housing development at Newlands, Fife, with the delivery of 40 homes designed by KDM Architects.

Banklands is operated by Kingdom Housing Association and comprises a mix of flats and houses designed to slot into the coastal landscape with split-level designs set into the sloping topography to maximise space.

Bill Banks, Kingdom Group chief executive, commented: "Banklands is Kingdom's fourth housing project in Newburgh, where we've had a presence since 1990. Robertson Partnership Homes has built high-quality, highly efficient properties for us which have amazing views over the River Tay and across to Perthshire and I’m certain these homes will be very popular with tenants as we bring even more affordable housing to the area.”

External finishes were specified in an off-white render, facing brickwork and grey feature cladding panels.

A new access road had to be laid to open up the 1.23-hectare site for development.
