Planning sought for Dingwall church hall extension

A church hall in Dingwall is set for expansion with the submission of plans prepared by Reynolds Architecture.

An application has gone before Highland Council calling for significant alteration and extension of St Clement’s Church Hall, to equip it with the space required for an upgraded community kitchen.

This would be housed in a complementary annexe finished in sandstone and zinc aligned in parallel with the current hall.

In a planning statement the architect stated: “The extension materials have been chosen to respect the finishes of the existing hall while ensuring a crisp modern element is included to differentiate between old and new.

“The proposed extension has substantial gable ends which replicate the wide gables of the existing hall.”

The eaves and ridge height of the extension have been kept purposefully below the ridge height of the current hall.
