Glasgow’s east end shows signs of life as 54 flats break ground

Grant Stafford Borthwick have completed site enabling works and begun construction of a £7m development of 54 flats on vacant ground at 331 Bell Street, Glasgow.

Designed by Jewitt & Wilkie Architects the six storey building will include a 2,500sq/ft ground-floor commercial unit in addition to a tenant car park, bike storage and lift access to all floors.

Andrew Borthwick, director, Grant Stafford Borthwick, said “I am very pleased to be working with Clark Contracts, one of Scotland’s leading contractors, to deliver such a welcome addition to the unfolding story of the High Street / Bell Street regeneration which continues to underpin the wider Merchant City progress.”

The scheme follows on from plans to erect 32 homes for mid-market rent on a nearby site at Little Dovehill Street.

Completion is anticipated by autumn 2020.
