Tillydrone Community Campus previewed

Aberdeen City Council has conducted its first tour of a new community campus in Tillydrone ahead of its official opening on 23 August.

This offered locals their first taste of the new facilities on offer at Tillydrone Community Campus, which draws together a mix of council services and community organisations as well as a café, crèche, library and classrooms.

Council co-leader Councillor Douglas Lumsden said: “The new facility is one of several transformational events for Tillydrone which are designed to help regenerate the area to show it is a great place to live and work, including a new school and additional affordable housing.”

Taking the place of an outdated facility on Hayton Road the £6m facility replaces a disused shopping centre with further work including demolition of a housing office to improve parking and access.

The hub was delivered by the council's own in-house design team.
