CALA Homes unveil dimension-busting 3,800sq/ft Bothwell home

CALA Homes have unveiled their largest house type ever created in the West of Scotland at Riverside at Bothwell, in the form of their 3,800sq/ft Waterston showhome.

A collection of 12 five-bedroom detached homes have been created for the commuter village, ranging in size from 2,814sq/ft up to 3,800sq/ft, each with extensive gardens stretching to the banks of the River Clyde.

Eileen Kesson of Envision Interior Design commented: “Our task was to underscore this very contemporary property with the signature CALA luxury but in a way that resonated with the understated minimalist style of the house itself.

“We were keen to allow the light and the connection of the living spaces to be the star and made the lighting and furniture choices carefully with this in mind. As a result, the palette was deliberately kept monochrome and subtle with areas sharing a combination of black/bronze and palest cream which took its lead from the stunning black kitchen – a true statement set piece in itself.”

The Waterston is on the market with an asking price of £1,275,000.

Not so much a house as an out-of-town shopping mall for one. And on a similar human scale.

Chavtastic.
Thats a lot of money for a rank looking suburban kit house.

Big Box tastic.

The 60's have phoned and asked for their crap un-built designs back.

The white collar gravy train just gets bigger and bigger -- interior design consultants now getting onboard.

If we are lucky the taste police will bust this place sometime soon.

Groundscraper with no sense of scale but a great sense of PR -- second mention in less that 2 months.

I think it is very brave of CALA to tackle designing a new style open prison for rural areas.
Oh this is the new 'Bothwell' house type? well this is truly terrible!

Fitba' players will be tripping over themselves to buy them. Got to say though, I find the design fabulous if only for the snobbish outrage it has provoked.

Firstly at 3800ft2 it is not the largest house type ever in the west of Scotland. Secondly it looks crap. As some have said it looks like a shopping centre not a house.
