£14m Clydebank care home breaks ground

West Dunbartonshire Council has announced the commencement of works at a £14m care home in Clydebank, the latest element of the Queens Quay waterfront regeneration project.

The riverfront development will provide space for up to 84 residents plus room for 50 more in a day care centre, all arranged around a series of themed courtyards with views across the historic John Brown shipyard.

Councillor Iain McLaren, Convener of Infrastructure, Regeneration and Economic Development, said: “This is such an important moment for Queens Quay as the first major development to begin and I am looking forward to seeing it progress.

“The communal courtyards which will be created will also let residents enjoy outdoor activities in a safe and accessible environment.”

Built by CCG the care home will take its place alongside a £19m health centre designed by Anderson Bell + Christie.
