Queen’s Hall seeks to put Dunoon back on the map

McLaughlin & Harvey have handed over a revitalised Queen’s Hall in Dunoon Argyll & Bute Council, completing a £12m revitalisation of the public venue.

Designed by Malcolm Fraser Architects and delivered by Halliday Fraser Munro the hall will open for its first public event on 27 July, giving people a chance to see the new look hall and auditorium for the first time.

A full internal fit-out has delivered a refurbished main auditorium with retractable seating, all kitted out with new lighting and audio-visual facilities. Built in flexibility will allow this space to be subdivided for different functions such as weddings, exhibitions and meetings.

Visitors will also benefit from a new café and fitness suite within the building, which also plays host to a library and the offices of Skills Development Scotland.

Associated landscaping and infrastructure work has seen a new road layout and surrounding public realm to enhance access to Dunoon town centre.

Looks great - hopefully a catalyst for change/improvement in Dunoon after some fade over the years. Well done.
