Dundee’s Marketgait to fill up with homes and shops
July 10 2018
Brunton Design are in the home straight of an 18-month journey to planning after applying the finishing touches to their vision for 43 flats above ground floor retail at Marketgait, Dundee, on the site of a former petrol filling station.
The £6m build is the product of protracted discussions with planners for the prominent plot, just yards from the B-listed Henderson Jute Mill.
Allan Mudie, of Brunton Design, said: “We have been in discussions with the local Dundee authority for about two years now. Their officials have been unfailingly helpful and enthusiastic. It’s great to be putting forward plans for such an important building outside the waterfront.
“We are of course aware of the sensitive setting and have been very careful to take account of this in our design. We aim to produce a contemporary building, using environmentally-friendly material, construction methods and energy sources.”
A planning application is expected shortly.
