Revised Broughty Ferry flats plan put forward
Revised plans for the erection of five three bedroom flats in Broughty Ferry, Dundee, have been tabled by Arktx following withdrawal of an earlier submission.

Bounded by a church and library the new scheme has been reduced in scale with remaining flats granted increased floor space whilst a balcony has been added to the south façade.

In their design statement the architects observed: “The proposals as submitted have been prepared on the basis of providing each new build flat with a dedicated external space in the form of a terrace or balcony. These are predominantly located to the east providing views over the library gardens. A communal garden area is also provided.

“Care and consideration has been taken to ensure the language and scale of the building is not overpowering and is in keeping with its historic context. The massing and siting of the building positively enhances the setting of the adjacent listed buildings.”
