Loch Earn cottage extension cleared by planners
July 15 2016
Denizen Works have obtained planning permission for a 135sq/m extension of a cottage at Loch Earn within Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park.Edinample Picture House sits to the north side of the loch and will be given a new utility room, kitchen/dining hall and living space to maximise views whilst also sheltering an outdoor seating area.
Designed to minimise visual impact from the road the single storey extension steps down in height along the slope of the valley, ending in a full height picture window formed through a distortion of the plan around a concrete hearth, to frame the vista.
Work on site is expected to commence by January 2017 for completion by October with Will Rudd Davidson serving as structural engineer.

Hmm. Not sure what to make of that. Is that a chimney connected to a viewing platform? How...novel. Is that exposed fireplace there to...you know what; I can't even think of a joke.
