September 22 2015£104m redevelopment of Queen Street Station, despite plans to remodel Buchanan Galleries being thrown into doubt, by submitting plans for the demolition of Consort House, entrance canopy to Buchanan Street Subway and the Millenium Copthorne Hotel extension.
The refined designs illustrate how a new entrance canopy will interface with the existing main hotel building on West George Street, which is itself subject to an ambitious redevelopment plan to replace lost rooms.
Drawn up by BDP the plans call for the creation of a new ticket office and waiting room together with a concourse area twice as large as existing – which will be accessible via new stairs and lifts.
