The scheme would incorporate a 28,000sq/ft cinema and seven restaurants on a new upper tier of the Bon Accord, accessible by new entrances at Upperkirkgate and Drum’s Lane which will open onto an external courtyard.
Bon Accord & St Nicholas manager Craig Stevenson said: “The cinema would be unique to the city, with a luxury approach, and the intention would be to replicate that by attracting a number of new and exciting restaurant names to the north-east.”
Subject to planning approval the phased scheme would see the restaurants delivered by autumn 2015 followed by the cinema in early 2016.
The scheme follows similar plans for new cinemas in Inverness and Dundee.
