Dunfermline Museum & Art Gallery to move on site
February 14 2014
Dunfermline Museum & Art Gallery will include a café, offices, children’s library and gallery space which will conjoin a B-listed bank and library with a glazed extension and landscaping.
Viewing galleries and an overhead walkway will be incorporated into this space, offering elevated views of the historic town.
Neil McCormick, chief executive, hub East Central Scotland said, “The project is the latest example of a public and private sector partnership which is delivering major new community facilities across Fife with associated benefits including local employment initiatives, training opportunities, and involvement of SME’s”.
Work is expected to commence on the Richard Murphy designed building within the next few months for completion by 2016.
A dramatic entrance will be formed by turning the façade of a B-listed bank into a giant pivoting door
