Built by Ogilvie Construction to designs by BDP the latest addition to the authority’s estates, following completion of the Livingston Civic Centre, incorporates a landscaped community garden and is intended to bring previously dislocated council services together under one roof.
Facades are clad in random cut Caithness flagstone and seamed brass to reinforce a sense of civic solidity whilst a sedum roof accommodates natural ventilation and a heat recovery system.
Councillor Jim Walker said at the unveiling: “It is a marvelous resource for Bathgate with so many services available in one location. It is really vibrant and you can feel a buzz in the building.”
