St Peter's delays

August 1 2006

Last month Argyll and Bute planning officers were due to advise local councillors to refuse permission for the Archdiocese’s proposals for St Peter’s seminary but the application was held back from the committee following discussions with the archdiocese about a conservation plan. Historic Scotland and the Twentieth Century Society have been trying to persuade the archdiocese to undertake a conservation plan for several months.

While it welcomes the conservation plan the St Peter’s Building Preservation Trust wants the application to be determined as soon as possible.
