Canadian Government launches UK ‘Super E’ drive
The Canadian Government has launched a UK drive to promote their ‘Super E’ standard of highly insulated housing as part of an initiative aimed at tapping into a growing concern at the carbon output of housing this side of the pond.

Designed to withstand the punishing extremes of climate found within the Canadian provinces, which can dip as low as -30C in winter and as high as 30C in summer, Super E homes attribute equal impetus to air cooling and heating.

Such homes regulate temperature and humidity by delivering air tightness rates 8.5 times greater than current UK building regulations require.

The first British Super E standard homes have already been built in the Kincorth area of Aberdeen.
