Govan paves the way to a brighter future
Work is set to begin in the next few weeks on the first phase of public realm improvements at Govan Cross, scheduled to complete in January next year.

This will see three prominent sites will be landscaped as part of a wider £120m investment by Central Govan Action Plan (CGAP) over the next 10 years.

At the forecourt of Govan Cross shopping centre fixed planters will be removed and replaced with open space and seating.

Govan Cross Square will be repaved in natural stone together with lighting and street furniture whilst existing clutter including recycling bins, phone booth, toilet railings and a wall will be removed to open the space up for events.

Leaning trees will be removed at the forecourt of Govan Subway Station with seating installed.

Glasgow City Council, the Town Centre Regeneration Fund, Heritage Lottery Fund and Govan Cross Shopping Centre are financing the £1.3m scheme.
