Ian Springford Architects have opened their latest Apex Hotel in London.

Three floors were added to a remodelled 1960’s office building to fashion the five star, 89 bed hotel which includes a bar, restaurant and gym.

All aspects of the design were handled by Springford who adopted extensive use of soft limestone on walls and floors together with dark wenge timber decorative screens and joinery.

Warm amber, gold and bronze wallcoverings and fabrics deliver a rich ambience to bar and restaurant areas.

Externally an acoustically and thermally poor façade has been replaced and a green sedum roof softens the appearance of the building from loftier neighbours.
