Macduff pupils at play for new gateway
Pupils at a Banffshire Primary school are getting involved in the design of a new “gateway feature” on the eastern approach to their town.

The public art has been commissioned by Springfield Properties as a planning condition and developer contribution to their Golf View development.

To provide some local flavour to the work Springfield were keen to tap into local history and legend for inspiration, inspiring a day long investigation attended by landscape architect Lisa Mackenzie and artist Elise Campbell.

Activities used to engage pupils ranged from a search for children’s favourite places and views, research into interesting facts about Macduff from locals and an examination into best practice from similar art interventions from around the world.
