An annual £500 award for 3rd year students, backed by the Glasgow Institute of Architects and Holmes has been launched, The Holmes Award – 3rd Year Student Best Design 2009.

Open to students from Strathclyde and Mackintosh schools of architecture the award has been conceived as a means of strengthening links between the schools and professional practice.

The 2009 GIA Student Awards will be presented in October.
