Affordable homes planned for former Kirkcaldy shopping centre

A giant brownfield site in Kirkcaldy town centre, once home to the Postings Shopping Centre, is to find new use as affordable housing.

Kingdom Housing Association and Cruden have teamed up to bring a range of mixed tenure properties to the high amenity site, including colony-style properties and homes geared toward the over-55s.

The new residential district is the subject of a new proposal of application notice filed with Fife Council for land off the High Street. Rory Stephens from Cruden said: “Regenerating this current brownfield site will bring vitality to the town centre, supporting local businesses and encouraging greater connectivity through the site to the High Street.

“Through the consultation process, we are looking forward to receiving input from the local community, who will play a key part in shaping our proposals.”

Two public consultations are scheduled to take place on 8 June and 26 August at Kirkcaldy Galleries with a detailed application following by October.
