A B-listed former bank at 236 Albert Drive, Pollokshields, is to be converted into a specialist dessert bar.

Chillicious Café & Desserts have commissioned Glasgow-based Arch Interiors to deliver a waffle and crepe themed environment, including a feature marshmallow wall, to bring the space to life.

In a planning statement Bennett Developments and Consulting wrote: “Notwithstanding that the building is “B” listed, previous occupiers have impacted on the interior with the result that little if any still remains and it is currently clad in ceiling and wall panels.

“If in the course of carrying out the new shopfitting works, any original features such as plasterwork and cast iron columns are uncovered, these will be sympathetically refurbished and incorporated into the internal fit out.”

Occupying the ground floor and basement of a three-storey blonde tenement the works will leave the existing polished grey granite frontage and feature doorway.
