Heritage-led hotel leads Love Loan launch

Glasgow's freshest hotel has opened its doors with the first guests arriving at the 245-bed AC Hotel by Marriott at Love Loan.

Flanking George Square in the heart of the city the Hoskins Architects designed hotel is a key component of the £100m leisure-led development that will include a selection of bars, restaurants, health and well-being facilities and a private members club.

Incorporating the 120-year-old A-listed Parish Halls to provide 22 'heritage' suites the build enriches the visitor experience by incorporating a sweeping stone staircase, period cornicing, a glass ceiling dome, and stained-glass.

Chris Stewart, CEO of the Chris Stewart Group, said: “This hotel means Love Loan will be the first port of call for countless visitors in years to come, and our carefully curated blend of leisure, retail, and hospitality – steeped in Glasgow’s rich history and heritage – will ensure they have the best impression of the city from the moment they arrive to when they leave.”

The four-star hotel also offers a gym and fitness suite following the opening of a Glasgow-themed restaurant

That's fantastic. The city really needs another hotel.

#1 glad you agree, so that Glasgow can raise the quality of hotel accommodation and lose some of the lower end?

One that serves a series of amuse-bouches based on knife crime, addiction and sectarianism?

@#4

Apparently they will have a ‘Clyde-built’ special, where you order two meals which take an age to arrive, are incomplete when they do, and then they charge you three times the price. At which point you realise the Turkish takeaway down the road could have done it a lot better.
