Linlithgow care home to cater for a growing population of over 65's

Plans for a new care home have been filed with West Lothian Council to meet the needs of a growing elderly population in Linlithgow.

Morrison Community Care Group, in a joint venture with CCG, propose a 60-bedroom facility on Edinburgh Road as part of a mixed development that will also include 18 flats for private sale.

Morrison Community Care managing director, Paul Sokhi, said: “A high percentage of Linlithgow’s population is over the age of 65 so our care home will go a long way to supporting localised demand for care services as well as creating up to 100 jobs."

David Wylie, CCG (Scotland) managing director, added: “The unique aspect of Edinburgh Road is the introduction of homes for sale which will be led by our CCG Homes brand.

"It’s an exciting development for the town and one which we will aim to launch around mid-2024.”

Offering residents 24-hour nursing and dementia care services the Holmes Miller-designed development combines custom private rooms with communal dining facilities, a visitor cafe, a hairdresser and a cinema.

The partnership will scale up support for the elderly with new developments across Scotland
