MAST Architects have filed plans for new build housing at the former James McFarlane School in Ardrossan on behalf of North Ayrshire Council.

A mix of 19 semi-detached and terraced homes are proposed for the 0.68ha site employing brick and render.

Properties employ turned gables to establish key frontages and accommodate a designated home working space with adaptability in mind for changing lifestyles and mobility.

In a design statement, MAST wrote: "This proposal sees the use of buff brick and cream render. With a soldier course used as a feature above windows and at junctions where render and brick meet. Along with light grey window frames and fascias used to soften the look of the proposal."

The homes are to be built by Ashleigh.
