Distiller shares plans for £40m Stirlingshire whisky warehouse

Advance plans have been shared for a £40m whisky warehouse at Bandeath Industrial Estate in Throsk, just outside Fallin, Stirlingshire.

Ian MacLeod Distillers (IMD) has selected an 8.2-hectare site for the maturation facility to provide additional cask storage capacity for the Rosebank, Glengoyne and Tamdhu distilleries.

A spokesperson for IMD said: “In addition to expanding our business operations, we believe this will deliver significant benefits for the local area, notably creating new jobs and delivering around £40 million of investment."

Designed by Michael Laird Architects with planning consultants Avison Young, the scheme will be shown in detail at a live consultation event on 1 December and online from 5 January.

A detailed planning application is expected early in 2023.
