Fife hamlet set for expansion with plans for 80 homes

Campion Homes with Davidson Baxter Partnership are proposing to build 80 homes in the rural hamlet of Balcurvie, Fife.

Accessible from Cameron Crescent the 8.2-acre farmland site is to include 8 affordable houses managed by Kingdom Housing Association, serving as an extension to existing housing to the north of the village.

In a design statement, the architects wrote: "The development proposals have been designed within cluster groupings all in the new built form sensitively laid out and detailed to reflect the setting and habitats which surround the site.

As part of the design submission, there is a proposed variation of roof tile colours proposed with some key buildings benefitting from orientation and positioning to create attractive spaces and groups."

Connecting to existing walking routes the scheme incorporates new roads and footpaths linking to the local school and village amenities.

Ranging in size from two to five bedrooms the development meets a 10% affordable housing requirement set out by Fife Council.
