Construction gets underway at Waid Academy
BAM Construction has begun work on the new Waid Academy and community hub at Anstruther, Fife.

Designed by BDP the campus will include community facilities such as a library, council offices and police station on the ground floor with primary and secondary schools arranged over two floors above.

Hub users will also benefit from a shared sports facility within the grounds.

Construction director Martin Cooper, said: “We’ve undertaken fairly extensive ground works and are working on laying a new rugby pitch.  However, it’s good to now see the shape of the building coming together and the pupils can get a better idea of the size and the scale of the school. ”

The community hub is set to open its doors in 2017.
