Girvan Leisure Centre set for construction start
Construction work is set to get underway on a new leisure centre for Girvan and South Carrick after South Ayrshire Council finalised funding for the £6m build.

Located on Girvan Harbour the Archial Norr designed scheme will be built by Morrison Construction and includes a 25m pool, fitness suite, gym, café, community room and play space.

Councillor Bill McIntosh, leader of South Ayrshire Council commented: "The new leisure and community facility will be the first of its kind built by this council in almost 20 years and I couldn't be more proud that it will be making a huge difference for people and communities in Girvan and South Carrick.”

The new facility should open its doors by spring 2017.

Look how realistic that little blue car is in the foreground. Isn't it amazing what can be done with visualizations these days?
