Whisky production gets underway at Ardnamurchan distillery
Adelphi Distillery has commenced production of its own single malt whisky brand at its new Ardnamurchan plant in Argyll, after being officially opened by HRH The Princess Royal.

Designed by Organic Architects the distillery, warehouse and visitor centre has been built close to the Glenmore River and powered by a boiler fuelled by locally sourced woodchip.

Commenting on the scheme for a Scottish Government planning award, for which the build has been shortlisted, Organic director Gareth Roberts wrote: “….it is a standard bearer for the provision of good jobs in suitable low-impact and sustainable industries. Clean, industry leading technology is housed in attractive vernacular buildings.”

The distillery is situated 1.5 miles west of Adelphi’s headquarters at Glenborrodale Castle.
Building work on the facility commenced in late 2012
