New look Taymouth Marina set for official launch
Taymouth Marina is set to be officially unveiled later this week following completion of a suite of new visitor facilities as part of efforts to bolster patronage at the Perthshire attraction.

Masterminded by marina owners Eric and Naomi Strickland, who are also partners in chartered architects McKenzie Strickland Associates, it will offer visitors 40 new boat berths, a waterfront restaurant, wine bar and self-catering apartments and houses.

These will provide opportunities for visitors and locals to hire a variety of pleasure boats to take out on Loch Tay as well as facilities for teaching the art of sailing and power boat lessons.

Centrepiece of the new marina is a Watersports Centre which boasts a dramatic glass fronted terrace offering views out to Kenmore and the Lawers mountains.

Commenting on the scheme Eric Strickland said: “If you were to ask a tourist to distil everything that people imagine about the romantic Scotland we all love into a few words they would say mountains, castles, lochs, salmon, deer, whisky and dramatic scenery. Kenmore encapsulates it all.”
