 Aberdeen Arena recommended for approval
A 21,000 seat stadium designed by the Miller Partnership for Aberdeen Football Club has been recommended for approval by planners.

Citing the potential economic benefits of the venue, officials are likely to wave through the development through when council chiefs meet on February 23.

The stadium will be illuminated red at night and incorporate a gym, club shop, museum and café. It also incorporates plans for a new “village” on neighbouring Greenfield land.

Located on the outskirts of the city at Loirston Loch the £40m stadium has received more than 100 objection letters

Scottish ministers will have the final say on whether the scheme can progress.
1,200 parking spaces will be accommodated in the scheme, landscaped by Gillespies

As an Aberdeen fan I would be hoping for something a little more inspiring than this. It dosn't even look like a stadium, it could be anything.

Bert, just what exactly to you expect with a budget of £38m?

This is an expedient design, and even at that it is by no means the worst design of its genre I have seen. Especially in comparison to Pittodrie-!

The designer at Miller's, Garteth Yule, is a Dons fan so we are in safe hands!

Donnie - stick to Danger Mouse, people aren't listening.

Probably more useful to budget £30M for the stadium and £8M for players....looks potentially like a top 6 arena for a bottom 6 team...
