Grand put back into Glasgow's Central Hotel
Glasgow's A listed Central Hotel has been rebranded as The Grand Central Hotel following a £20m redevelopment by hotel and conference operator Principal Hayley.

With assistance from Historic Scotland, interior designers Charles Leon Associates and architects Crerar and Partners the development team have restored many regional features throughout the giant hotel and updated the decor to provide a contemporary feel.

This sees the original grandeur of the hotel uncovered with Italian marble floors, intricate cornicing and ornate ceilings now newly restored to view.

Incorporating 186 bedrooms and 21 meeting rooms the hotel boasts a spectacular champagne bar, a grand ballroom and a 25m chandelier for an appropriately grand illumination of the central stairwell.

Very impressive, I can think of many other jaded hotels which could do with this sort of makeover
