Hoskins wins Greyfriars

February 11 2005

Gareth Hoskins Architects has been commissioned to prepare a feasibility study for the redevelopment of the Greyfriars Kirkhouse in Edinburgh’s Old Town. The joint venture between Greyfriars Kirk, Edinburgh City Council and Hillcrest Housing Association aims to develop a community facility that will support the city’s homeless and disadvantaged.

The site has long been a centre for charities and initiatives providing support to homeless people. The £2million project will incorporate consultation rooms; training spaces to develop skills in IT, woodwork, home-making, arts and crafts; and a public caf... and shop. Sixteen supported flats could also be created.
