Hamilton Premier Inn ready for a resumption of travel

LMA Architects have completed a 96-bed Premier Inn hotel on Hamilton's Townhead Street, including a new restaurant within a ground-level glazed plinth.
Delivered under a design and build contract with Ogilvie Construction, on behalf of New Dimension Group, the development replaces the C-listed Town Hotel which was destroyed by fire in 2018.
Finished in dark grey aluminium and white render the build rises through five floors at the junction with the A723.
One of many Premier Inn hotels delivered by the practice Hamilton presages the completion of sister hotels at Thurso and a 136-bed hotel within the former BHS store on Princes Street, Edinburgh, both of which are scheduled to complete in the coming weeks.
A further 60-bed expansion within the former New Look store below an existing Premier Inn on Princes Street is scheduled to complete this summer.
A monopitch roof increases the height of the hotel toward the A723 for visibility
