Springfield Properties obtain consent for 3,000 home Stirling ‘village’

Springfield Properties has obtained conditional planning consent from Stirling Council to erect a 3,042 home ‘village’ at Durieshill.

Located under a mile south of the city Durieshill Village will span 593 acres of and take around 20 years to complete, delivering a mix of private, affordable and rental accommodation alongside schools, a library, elderly care facility and commercial units.

Innes Smith, CEO of Springfield Properties, said: “We are delighted to have received approval for Durieshill, which we believe is the largest detailed planning application to have been approved in Scotland.

“Durieshill will be a beautiful country village with more than half of its area as woodland, community landscaping, allotments and pocket parks.

“In the heart of the village there will be a community campus with a primary school, a secondary school and other community places like a library. There will be businesses like cafes, shops, dentists, hairdressers, a post office or a pharmacy. There will be play parks, public art, planting, tree lined streets and benches.“

It is expected that work will get underway from late autumn 2020 with phase one completing in 2022.
