Travelodge roll-out continues with 60-bed Govan hotel

May 12 201760-bed Travelodge hotel at the junction of Linthouse Road and Govan Road, Glasgow.
Incorporating a ground floor bar and restaurant the three storey building will be formed from a mixed palette of red, brown and grey brickwith coloured cladding highlights reflecting Travelodge’s corporate branding.
In their design statement Mosaic observed: “The expressed gable reflects the historical buildings previously on the site, a reminder of industrial shipyard buildings which once occupied the site.
The horizontal banding and vertical fenestration are reflective of the strong elevational rythmic order of the traditional buildings in the context of the site.”
A mixture of planting, shared surfaces and car parking will be used to integrate the hotel with a neighbouring village green as part of Linthouse Point, CRGP’s wider residential masterplan.
