March 23 2017£20m petrochemical HQ in Grangemouth has been unveiled by INEOS to serve as its UK base for its Olefins and Polymers business, taking the place of surplus industrial buildings.
Designed by Michael laird Architects to stringent requirements owing to proximity to the chemical plant the offices were completed within 12 months of construction getting underway.
Michael Laird director Jeremy Scott said: "A feature of the HQ design was the provision of large expanses of glazing to allow light into the office and atrium spaces. The performance of the glazing systems was therefore a key requirement when considering the specific engineering associated with constructing an office building adjacent to the chemical plant."
Built by BAM Construction the steel frame structure houses 6,490m2 of office space, meeting rooms and conference facilities faced with Kawneer glazing and curtain walling.
